30 Quick Tips for Weight Loss

  1. Start every day with a glass of water
  2. Measure your food
  3. Hire a Personal Trainer or a Licensed Nutritionist to get you on the right path
  4. Get at least 30 minutes of exercise 3-5 times a week...duh!
  5. Prepare your food at home so you know what's actually going into your food
  6. Go crazy on vegetables - you really can't eat enough
  7. If the restaurant you're at has large portions, take half home or share with a friend
  8. In restaurants, don't be afraid to ask how the food prepared (ie, baked v. fried)
  9. Drink at least 8 glasses of water throughout the day
  10. Don't drink soda or other sugary drinks
  11. Before eating out, look at the menu online and decide what you're ordering, so you won't be tempted later
  12. Eat fresh fruit instead of drinking fruit juice
  13. Ask yourself if you're eating because you're bored, or because you really do need to eat
  14. Increase your fiber intake (veggies, fruits, beans, whole grains)
  15. Eat at set times every day so you don't end up skipping meals and grabbing for a candy bar
  16. Go easy on sweeteners and creamers in coffee and tea
  17. Track your calories using an app, a notebook, or a program like Weightwatchers
  18. Avoid anything labeled "fried"

  21. Eat 5-6 smaller meals a day instead of 2-3 bigger ones

  26. Do low intensity exercises or stretching while watching TV

  28. When making several servings of a meal at home, divide the leftovers into Tupperware
